ARGENTINA

Phil has just returned from Argentina, where he found a pair of Diademed Sandpiper Plovers in readiness for our forthcoming tour. They had two small chicks. He went on to find another breeding pair and an immature bird at a new site for this species in Argentina

Our local guides, say our Argentina tour is unique in their opinion and offers the best mix of endemics and superb landscapes. An extension to the world famous Iguaçu Falls is also planned. Phone for more information.

These two male Andean Condors were chasing each other by wall of a large gorge. Below them more than a dozen bathed in the river.

NAMIBIA

Our Namibia tour was yet another massive success. Early rains meant that we found some very unusual birds not normally present.

The Pennant-winged Nightjar is probably the strangest night-flying bird in the world - spooky!

This one was only the second record for Etosha, found on our 2006 tour.

Our leaders are known for their persistence in tracking down the unusual. We were extremely lucky to find this female Cheetah in the Namib Desert.

Not only was it amazing to watch her, but she also had 4 babies tucked away in the grass!

The rains brought a massive influx of Queleas into Etosha. They formed a dark cloud over every waterhole and Lanner Falcons would scythe through them every few minutes.

Black Rhino have increased in number in recent years and we watched a fight to dominate a waterhole between a grumpy male and the biggest Elephant on the plains - Rhinos are not the brightest of creatures.

This Pygmy Falcon was taking over a Social Weaver's nest in Namibia 2006.

The Blue Crane is seen on our Namibia & some South African itineraries. This is one of a pair that drank at a waterhole in Etosha, Namibia.

This bear killed a seal and shared the spoils with three Glaucous Gulls and an Ivory Gull.

She then licked her paws clean as we left her to finish her meal.

SWEDEN

Hundreds of Cranes flew in to roost on the shore of the Baltic at Oland - One of the magical highlights of the Falsterbo tour.

The cranes could be seen and heard from bedroom windows. Phil could hear them while in the shower!
